Working on Your Re-Entry Plan

At Goldsmith Podiatry, we’re encouraged to hear positive numbers being reported with regard to COVID 19 in Manhattan. We hope that all of our patients are staying healthy. As we all begin to set our sites on re-opening, below are some suggestions to help prepare:

·         Get back on track. Whether you’re one person or a whole family, having a predictable schedule and routine is important for being productive and getting done what is necessary on a daily and weekly basis. If you’ve let that routine slip during this unpredictable period, now is the time to begin getting back to your regular schedule. Start going to bed and getting up at regular times, eating real meals, and even breaking up the day with set times for work/school and leisure. This will help everyone make a smoother transition back to regular life when the time comes.

·         Don’t ignore foot and other medical issues. Many patients have been afraid to venture out for medical appointments. If you have a condition such as diabetes, for example that requires foot care by our podiatrists, Dr. Howard Goldsmith or Dr. Rosanna Troia, don’t hesitate to contact our Upper West side office by calling: (212) 877-1002. The foot doctor will evaluate your situation and direct you as to the best course of action. Do not attempt home care that will result in injury or possible infection. The same holds true for other acute and chronic medical issues. Get these taken care of now, before they become serious.

·         Reflect on the positives. While there are many challenges associated with the pandemic, some good has come out of it for nearly everyone. Think about the positive changes the virus has forced you to make—such as spending more time together as a family or getting to know your neighbors better, etc. Plan for ways to continue these positive changes post virus.

Remember that we are here for you. If you have any questions or concerns about the health of your feet, please contact us.
